Recently a misguided soul from a nice little town opined about Democrats versus Republicans, trying to explain why the right choice is to vote for Democrats. Nothing alarming about that, except for the fact that he got published. Evidently there is no shortage of misguided souls, even in conservative little towns. I won’t give his “name-and-town, name-and-town;” I don’t want to embarrass the poor soul, he must have suffered enough by now at the poison pens of others. I’ll just insert my retorts within his comments.

The choice is between two diametrically opposed visions of what it means to be an American. If you want to remain a victim to group-think and a slave to the dictatorship of the ideologues, vote for Democrats. If you want to be treated as a proud, independent, self-sufficient human being, responsible for your own welfare, free to choose your own path, succeed or fail as you might and pick yourself up again, then you have no choice but to vote for Republicans. The choice is that clear. It is as simple as that. WHY? Because…

The ideology driving the Democrats is the essence of feeble-minded superficial simplicity. Rob Peter to pay Paul. Their answer to every problem is to tax the “rich,” however defined (did you know YOU are rich?), so they can shower meager benefits on the “poor,” however defined (did you know, YOU qualify for handouts?) — after a hefty cut for the middlemen and bureaucratic overhead, in and out of government: $3.8T budget, $17T debt, and mounting…, but not counting the costs of regulatory compliance and uncountable social costs in the private sector.

EVERY program that the Democrats had been and are still are proposing is unconstitutional. Nothing in the powers assigned to the government and enumerated in the Constitution allows the government to initiate and run the programs that the author of this article has listed so boastfully.

On the other hand, ALL of them derive directly from a decrepit, old, massively retrograde ideology based on medieval top-down mercantilism, distilled into the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx in 1848. That’s “progressive”?

Wherever you may live, if you’re making the federal minimum wage, or slightly more, and want a $2 an hour raise, vote for the Democrats. If you support extending unemployment insurance, vote for the Democrats.

The Democrats never tell you where the extra money will come from, where it has to come from. They don’t want you to know that businesses are not the government and they can’t just print or borrow money recklessly, endlessly. A business must be profitable to afford employees, so they either have to raise prices — for everybody —  or they have to fire some employees to keep others at the higher rate. The remaining employees have to work harder. Everybody loses.

The statistics are clear. The higher the minimum wage, the fewer people — young people — get the chance at badly needed work experience needed to qualify for better jobs. Similarly, the longer the unemployment benefits, the longer it takes one to find another job. Regardless of how long unemployment benefits last, the vast majority of new jobs are magically found in the week or two just before the benefits run out.

There is a simple solution to this problem. Put your brain to work. Get more marketable skills. Try the free market.

2.
If you don’t want a raise and don’t care if the Republicans do away with the minimum wage, then vote for them. If you don’t believe in unemployment insurance, vote for them. It really is that simple. Read on; other issues might cause you not to vote for the GOP.

Most people don’t know or care anymore that they are supposed to save for bad times. But no Republican has the guts or is so hard hearted as to call for ending minimum wage and unemployment; most people at some point in their life find themselves in need of some help. That is why it’s called unemployment INSURANCE; you and your employer pay into a fund from which benefits are doled out. But by arbitrarily mandating unsound terms and amounts, the fund runs dry fast and the government time and again has to step in to replenish it. That means higher taxes on other people. Rob Peter to pay Paul.

There is a simple solution to this problem. Put your brain to work. Get more marketable skills. Try the free market.

3.
If you can’t afford it and need health insurance, Medicaid can now help in many states. If you have children aged 18-26 who are now covered by your insurance, thank the Democrats. The Affordable Care Act , aka 0bamacare, if you must, has now been responsible for 10 million uninsured citizens getting health insurance. To keep the ACA you must vote for responsible Democrats. It’s that simple. The Republicans have voted to repeal the ACA over 50 times. If the natio’ns healthcare doesn‘t concern you, vote for the do-nothing Republicans.

Nothing illustrates the fraudulence of the Democrats’ ideology better than their meddling in health care and health insurance. The more details about 0bamacare come to light, the more it becomes clear that it is unsustainable no matter what level of taxation is imposed to pay for it. The number of newly insured that 0bamacare’s supporters claim is a myth. Many more have lost perfectly sensible, affordable PRIVATE insurance, and now have to pay far higher premiums, huge co-pays and astronomical deductibles. Forget about robbing Peter to pay Paul; neither will survive the death panels very long. Health care will be, will have to be,  rationed severely, as it has been in all other countries that have gone down this disastrous road. Everybody loses.

There is a simple solution to this problem. Try the free market. It worked before, it will again.

4.
If ending Social Security would be a disaster for you, you positively must vote for the Democrats. The Republicans, who are supporting Social Security, would end it by privatizing the system. If you don’t care about Social Security for yourself or seniors, then go ahead and vote for Republican extremists. It’s that simple.

That stupid bromide, again… The Republicans don’t have the guts to call for a repeal of Social Security and the monstrous welfare boondoggle it has become. Again and again they give in to the Democrat way of doing things — Rob Peter to pay Paul.

There is a simple solution to this problem. Try the free market. Look to the example of countries such as Chile that followed Milton Friedman’s advice and privatized their retirement system. Having put it on sound footing, they are able to pay out much better than the old state-run system did, while our boondoggle faces bankruptcy. After all else fails, try the free market.

5.
If you’re on Medicare, you absolutely must vote for the Democrats. Plain and simple. Medicare is a major target of Republicans. They want to privatize Medicare, effectively destroying the program. If you don’t give a darn about Medicare, because you don’t need it and you don’t care one iota about those who do, then I imagine you’ll vote for the Republicans.

That other stupid bromide, again… The Republicans don’t have the guts to call for a repeal of Medicare and the monstrous welfare boondoggle it has become. Once again they give into the Democrat way of doing things — Rob Peter to pay Paul. In this case they are also robbing the very people who are delivering the health care the seniors need. They are driving doctors and other providers out of their professions. Everybody loses.

There is a simple solution to this problem. Try the free market. Privatize it. Don’t terminate — by law — perfectly well functioning private health care and private health insurance just because the patient has reached what the government thinks is retirement age. It is my business when I chose to retire, not the government’s or the insurance company’s.

6.
If you understand war is the last option when differences between nations occur, you should vote for the Democrats. If you don’t, then vote for the party of Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain. They seem to want to go to war at the drop of a hat. You can sing along with McCain “Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.”

It’s funny how events catch up with even the dumbest of arguments. Who is singing “Bomb, Bomb, Bomb; bomb, bomb IRAQ” now? Why, it’s the post-partisan, post-patriotic, post-American, post-common sense, post-competent current occupant of the White House….

You’d better make up your goddam mind about foreign and defense policy. Do you follow the advice of George Washington — avoid foreign entanglements — and the example of Thomas Jefferson — beat the hell out of them and come home? Or do you adhere to the new world order ideology of Wilson, FDR, and every president since then, and see every problem anywhere in the world as our problem or excuse to intervene? The absolute stupidest thing you can do is to jump half-heartedly into a “limited” war based on an idiotic theory of “proportional response,” then as the body count mounts, give the enemy aid and comfort by starting an anti-war movement here at home. That is not a foreign policy, it’s treason plain and simple.

The sickening new-world-order, UN-police-action ideology is not only robbing Peter and not paying Paul, it’s asking both for the ultimate sacrifice while handcuffing them with the most idiotic rules of engagement that even the local police don’t have to put up with.

There is a simple solution to this problem. Try the Constitution. It’s CONGRESS who declares war, not the President. It’s Congress who decides if the blood and suffering of our young men is worth the reasons why we’d go to war. And if we do, then FIGHT TO WIN. Rapid, total victory — or don’t bother.

7.
If you don’t want tax dollars spent supporting private schools, or you don’t want your child taught a religion different than yours while in public schools, you should vote for the Democrats. If you want tax payers to support sending kids to expensive private schools or religion taught in public schools, you’ll have to vote Republican.

Another stupid bromide, again. A century of progressive government monopoly over education, and endless “reforms,” have produced a disastrous decline in performance by schools and students. The only solution to this problem, as all other problems, is competition. In this case competition can be introduced into this glorious edifice of state monopoly in the form of tuition vouchers paid not to the schools but to the parents of school-age children, and let the parents choose which school they want to educate their kids. Most parents know or have an instinct for seeing which schools are wasting their time, money and their children’s brains.

Public schools are another example of robbing Peter to pay Paul. There is a simple solution to this problem. Try free enterprise. It works every time.

8.
If you’re against the draconian measures Republican governors or state houses have taken to make it more difficult for minorities and seniors to vote in order to battle a non-existent voter fraud problem, vote Democratic. In Philadelphia some minority voters must ride the transit for an hour and then walk another half mile or so just to get to their new polling place. Standing in long lines and waiting 5-8 hours to vote is outrageous and not American. Vote for the Democrats in your state houses and governorships to put an end to these outlandish efforts to deter some voters. If you support these Jim Crow tactics, or you’re a plain old simple-minded bigot, you’ll vote for extremists Republicans.

Never mind that it was Republicans who fought slavery, that it was the first REPUBLICAN president who freed the slaves. Never mind that Jim Crow and the KKK were the reactionary work of DEMOCRATS. Never mind the simple little fact that Philadelphia, as most cities, has been ruled by a DEMOCRAT machine for many, many decades. So if you have a problem, you know whom to blame.

Democrats expect us to be so stupid as to believe that as a society that routinely requires a picture ID for all commercial and official interactions — driving, banking, drinking, paying with a credit card, to name a few — it is somehow undue hardship on certain people to show a picture ID before they vote. Only 5-10 years ago even California required a picture ID. On the other hand, every election produces endless anecdotal evidence of people — favored minorities, illegals and students — being bused from one polling place to another in the name of “vote early, vote often.”

There is nothing more sacred in a democracy than the vote. Voter fraud is real, as is vote COUNT fraud; you’d think that as a “party of the people” the Democrats would be screaming for honest election procedures. But history shows that the only purpose of Democrat machines was patronage, cronyism — and election fraud. Win at any cost. Rob Peter of his money, AND his vote.

There is a simple solution to this problem. Try the Constitution.

9.
If you favor reasonable and environmentally safe oil and gas extraction and transportation, vote for the Democrats. Oil and gas extraction in Pennsylvania damaged water supply 200 times in 2007. Many other states have a similar problem. If you believe in clean air, water, climate change and protecting our environment, the Democrats are the better choice. If you don’t give a hoot about the environment and think climate change is a joke, you’ll vote for Sarah Palin’s extremists Tea Party candidates.

Junk science is a hallmark of Democrat beliefs. There is no evidence of ground water contamination by fracking, for the simple reason that explorers and producers have learned many decades ago how to drill a well.

Likewise, there is no evidence of “man-made global warming,” which is why they changed the slogan to “climate change.” The geological evidence clearly shows that the Earth had undergone many ice ages — that is, the climate is always changing, the Earth is always warming and cooling.

“Environmental protection” is just another excuse to push the marxist war on private property and private enterprise. Rob Peter, and rob Paul too. The only thing that Sarah Palin and the TEA Party are extremists about is our love for our country and our Constitution — not marxist theories.

There is a simple solution to this problem. Let free enterprise work. It is in no one’s interest to destroy the home in which we all live. Remedies for damage done and measures to prevent damage do exist.

10.
If you support reasonable gun laws, such as background checks, and believe that more guns on the street, in classrooms, theaters or shopping malls is not the answer, and if you understand that the Constitution also gives you the right “NOT” to bear arms, you’ll vote for the Democrats. Some worship NRA spokesman Wayne LaPierre and want to arm everyone and end gun regulations. Republicans in Missouri passed a law forcing teachers to carry guns to class. It was vetoed by the Governor. If you support mandatory gun possession, you’ll vote for Republican extremists.

The simple fact is that every living creature has a god-given right — an irresistible instinct — to act in its self-defense. By constantly attacking the Second Amendment, the Democrats are denying us that right. The indisputable fact is that when seconds count, the police are minutes away. The undeniable fact is that the Founders, who had the wisdom to make this the Second of all Amendments, had done so because they knew from bitter experience that only an armed people can hope to be a free people.

It takes a Democrat to claim that people who love life, liberty, the Constitution and their right of self-defense are “extremists.”

There is a simple solution to this problem. Try the Constitution. Oh, it just happens to say, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

11.
If you believe in science, vote for the Democrats. If you don’t, vote for the “don’t bother us with facts” Tea Party Republicans.

If you don’t know anything about science and don’t respect knowledge of any sort, you must be a Democrat. You couldn’t possibly miss seeing through all the falsehoods of marxist ideology if you knew anything about anything. It is precisely the marxist totalitarians who are not open to facts that contradict their impractical, unnatural, preconceived ideas, and who resort to falsifying data to make the facts fit their theories.

Oh, by the way. Computer models are NOT science; they can be and they are manipulated to prove anything you want. That’s the whole point in a computer model, to simulate anything. Science is something else; it’s the facts independent of the computer models — which, incidentally, predicted an imminent ice age in the 1970s and a catastrophic warm-up in the last decade, and now they are talking about both an ice age and global warming, depending on the model…

There is a simple solution to this problem. Eliminate junk science from our schools. Maybe then people won’t fall for marxist propaganda anymore.

12.
The pro-Democrat Party positions in this article are moderate, not liberal. If you’re a moderate, like me, the Democrats are your best choice.

The positions in this paper are illustrations of extreme marxist lunacy masquerading as some kind of feel-good goody-two-shoes compassion. This is the same marxist ideology that has enslaved hundreds of millions and has murdered tens of millions by the hands of Soviets, Maoists and their tinpot fellow travelers in many more countries.

There is a simple solution to this problem. Dump the Democrats from office.

13.
If you are a woman, or gay, there’s no other sane choice but the Democrats. It really is that simple
.

If you are a woman, the insane choice is to vote for Democrats. If you are gay or anything else, the insane choice is to vote for Democrats.

Let’s repeat that. The insane choice is to vote for Democrats. Why? Because Democrats use you as pawns in a sick game of promises made but not kept. They don’t want to solve any problems because if they did, then they’d run out of excuses for their pitiful existence. If you want to remain a victim to group-think and a slave to the dictatorship of the ideologues, vote for Democrats. But if you want to be treated as a proud, independent, self-sufficient human being, responsible for your own welfare, free to choose your own path, succeed or fail as you might and pick yourself up again, then you have no choice but to vote for Republicans. The choice is that clear. It is as simple as that.

If you understand any of this, you couldn’t possibly be a Democrat. Welcome, fellow Republican.
